Great Books

These posts are neither long nor frequent enough for my liking.  Bear with me, friends.

Today I wanted to talk about a wonderful follow-up book to The Day the Crayons Quit, by Drew Daywalt.  A favorite at our house.  The new one is called The Day the Crayons Came Home.

Luke, Madeleine and I piled on the sofa after school yesterday and we laughed with each page.  It almost seems like they wait to see if I’m going to laugh at certain things to know if they should laugh.  I remember doing that with my parents when we’d watch movies.  I didn’t get all the humor as a little kid so I’d look over to see how my parents reacted.  Do your kids do that?

Witty and adorable, this book is a welcome buddy to the original.  Hope you like it, too.

Happy Halloween!  Whether you’re kid-free and have plans to go to a costume party, or if you’ll be treat-or-treating your brains out, have a blast!
